Well ... I experienced a similar problem in a Sun Fire 280R,
which uses the same family of system boards and CPUs as the Sun Blade
1000 and 2000.
Except that I could get *no* diagnoistics out of the system with
two CPUs installed.
It turns out that someone had bumped the end of one CPU's
connector and it apparently shorted out the last few pin pairs on one
end. This apparently burned out something on the system board which was
necessary to allow two CPUs to co-exist. Either CPU would work fine on
its own.
I straightened out the pins and verified that they both worked
together in a SB-2000, so I ordered a replacement system board from an
eBay vendor.
That fixed things totally.
Since your error allows both boards to be present and gives you
some diagnoistcs, you may have a different problem.
