The root account doesn't have a password after the default install.

Just log in as root and hit enter at the password prompt (there shouldn't
even be a password prompt).

I don't remember just where the configuration assisstant is -- try smit,
then System Configuration (I think . . . don't have a system running here
at home to look at).

If you do have a root password and can't figure it out, boot in
maintenance mode from the CD and pick the option to "start a root session
after mounting filesystems" -- then vi /etc/passwd and delete the '!' from
root's entry. Save, reboot, and root will no longer have a password.
