It does not allow access to the database to manipulate data and schema. It
only allows you to administer the engine spaces, configuration and state.

[Oh, and Mark, I suggested this admin mode a few days ago. Clearly grate
minds think alike ;-]

IDS does since approx 7.2x - you can change tables to raw and back to
standard. IDS does not have the other table modes of XPS but they hardly
seem relevant to transactional applications.
