I know Informix 5 SE is OLD but it is our platform for the forseeable
future. I have just massively increased the throughput of our SCO server
running this by way of adjucting the NBUF and NHBUF parameters in the
kernel. Are there any Informix specific parameters I can play with to see if
I can get even more from this aeging but solid and important database? Web
links or howto's would be very much appreciated. We have 512MB RAM (about
240 unused) on a P3 1Gig Proliant ML370. I have already flashed the firmware
on the RAID card giving around 30% a month ago more but the NBUF has just
doubled performance on top (and more in some cases where the same table is
hammered).
