Its universally true for gbics, has nothing to do with v480 in itself I
belive, the gbic seems to "age" with time, especially in hot environments
in my own experience...

I had more faults on gbics from certain providers then others, but I wont
list them here since I dont have any numbers to back that up with, and
I havent not done this recently anyhow.
