A better bet might be to get a second-hand 43p. I've got a 43p Model 260
that runs AIX5.2 quite nicely, though it is unsupported. It makes a great
test box, though. If you want something newer, look at the p5 510; the
IBM list price starts at less than $5K (US), so with discounts it would be
less. And that is a POWER5 CPU.
