With all due respect Beardy, please think before you post.
1) Trim quoted material. If you think my post was OT then
why repeat it in its entirety? (And why didn't you flag
your response OT in the subject?)
2) I have posted over 200 times to this group over a period of
4 years, and have received email responses from around the
world thanking me for the help I have given so I don't
need to be lectured.
3) Given the problems caused by people posting to newsgroups
with multiple identities for dishonest purposes I happen
to think that it is good practice to specifically link to
a previous identity when it becomes necessary to switch to
a new one. The only other time I did this (which was in
comp.sys.mac.system) I was praised by one of the regulars
for doing so, reinforcing my notion that it was a good
thing.
I have nevertheless taken into account your criticism, and
will consider it carefully.
