I rebooted my AIX workstation and observed the following:
- The boot sequence showed up on the 15-pin VGA monitor.
- Once the boot sequence is finished, the logon screen (and subsequent
desktop) showed up on the DVI monitor, the 15-pin VGA monitor went blank.

That's ok, I guess. It would be better if I could control where to send
the output though.
