It's definately not normal! During a fresh install, slice 0 will
be /, slice 1 will be swap, and slice 2 will be backup (note: not
/backup). The rest of the disk is usually given to /export/home,
usually as slice 7. Slices 0 and 1 are set to vaguely reasonable
values (which I think are way too small), and slice 2 is the whole
disk.

I strongly recommend NOT having a separate /usr.
