Judging from the patch README for the Solaris 9 Xsun patch, one
probably needs these for mouse wheel support:

112785-36 (or greater) X11 6.6.1: Xsun patch
115553-08 (or greater) SunOS 5.9 USB Drivers & Framework patch
115004-02 (or greater) SunOS 5.9 kbtrans patch
117418-01 (or greater) SunOS 5.9 consms patch
