I don't know whether that board actually uses a PROM (as opposed to,
e.g., flash memory) but if it does, and since you've got some other
similar boards, you might be able to use a PROM programmer to copy the
PROM out of one of the functional ones and get back to where you began.

Just a thought. It might not be worth the effort.
