Have you tried a loopback test on Port B? Unbend a metal
paper clip into a U shape, and plug the ends of the clip
into the B port's pin 2 and 3. Then tip -19200 /dev/cua/b
and see if your keystrokes are displayed on your screen.

If your keystrokes are displayed, then the port is working.
Look at your cable for the problem. If your keystrokes are
not displayed, make sure the paper clip really is shorting
pin 2 to pin 3. If it is, then the port circuitry is probably
broken.
