No experience with the SunFire, but I'm using an IDE DVD burner
on my Ultra-2 with a card by ACard which converts the IDE to SCSI.

I'm not sure that I would trust USB at the data rates for a DVD
burner, but I may be wrong. Which speed USB does the SunFire have?
