Sorry for this really old thing, but I'm (re)installing
an old Ultra 1e with brand new 4.5gb disks ;-)

Unfortunately, I can’t remember and even find a good
google-keyword on “how to label/format new disks in
an ultra 1e”
I remember it's been done using the firmware; I just
can’t find the command again..

The firmware banner, if it can helps, shows:
Sun Ultra 1 SBus (UltraSPARC 143MHz)
OpenBoot 3.11, 64 MB memory installed,
