I have an Ultra2 with a couple of 296MHz processors.
I also have a few Ultra SparcII 360MHz and a couple of 400MHz processors
hanging around.
I have not yet found any reference for a jumper setting that might allow me
to use either
in the Ultra2.

I guess my question is, is 296MHz as high as I can go in the Ultra2?
