IIRC Oracle was one of the houses that did play nice. Or, at least IIRC
we were able to do an upgrade by getting the old version of Oracle up on
the new servers and only after that migrate the data to a newer version
of Oracle. This might have been HP-UX 10.20 -> 11.00/32 though.
And, Oracle specifically said at some point that 32-bit Oracle binaries
will run on 64-bit HP-UX - 11.00 at least, but that was for a
8.something and I'm not sure if 11.11 was out yet.

Well ... in the best case, the old version will continue to run just
fine, it's just the risk that you aren't that lucky.
Oh, and I'm not sure that you really want to re-run the installer, just
moving the binaries over might be easier. (it certainly was back when
the Oracle install CDs were broken and needed lots of manual work to get
the install to complete succesfully even on the correct HP-UX version...
not sure which Oracle version that was.)
