My idea about the usage of the library was a little different, I tried to
create an lvm volume group by concatenating the media surface one after
the other. In this way the media should be filled in sequence, but the lvm
manager did not allowed me to do so

Well, there is a similar way to configure an autochanger under linux using
the automounter and mtx, but I never tried, since my 40fx misteriously
loose about 1MB of data for each write under linux (and of course, the
library drive used in an external box works just fine......)
