If you've been installing your own personal versions of things, you may
have some conflicts, especially if you've been rolling RPM's from later
releases back (such as OpenSSH or Apache). Also, some packages have
moved, such as Apache switching from /home/httpd to /var/www, so you may
wind up needing to repartition if you've made /home or /var separate.

Why not just back the old system up and do a clean installation from
scratch?
