My favorite Unix is FreeBSD, for no particular reason. They
are all good. I'd run Unix if it wasn't for the fact that
a huge number of great applications have been created for
Libc6/Linux that just don't work on Unix. http://www.freebsd.org

My favorite Linux is Debian. It is very clean
and dependable, follows the FHS (Filesystem Hierarchy Standard),
and very easy to customize. You aren't locked into a GIDE
(Graphical Integrated Desktop Environment). http://www.debian.org

I guess you could call them all "unix", if you don't
capitalize the word.

Then there's "UNIX" which is a trademark belonging to
The Open Group (which is anything but...). http://www.unix.org
