I moved to Slackware about two years ago, from Redhat 8.0 to Slack 9.0. I
noticed that Slack was quite a bit faster to boot and to launch konqueror
and kmail than Redhat. I tried Linux From Scratch and it worked out well
after I finally got it going, but the lack any package manager at all drove
me back to Slackware. Slackware has been extremely stable for me.
