The issue is whether the PC has the EDD bios extensions needed to support
"lba32" (with LILO). Without the EDD bios, "lba32" cannot be supported.

In this case, there must be a /boot partition located below the 1024 cylinder
limit. The LILO standalone diagnostic disk #1 may be used to check for EDD
bios support:
