Hi,

I am running Fedora Core 2, kernel 2.6.5. I am trying to upgrade to
kernel 2.6.12. Is there anything wrong in downloading and building the
kernel in user home directories? I doing this as root, though.

My doubt is about whether the kernel compilation process assumes that
kernel source is located in /usr/src. I tried googling the net and the
usenet groups but could not find anything that directly answers this
question.
