As you suggested I typed
$>groups myname
output -> myname: myname dip
but since I also want to be able to play music stored in my HHD and
CDROM I did the following:
username -G dialout, fax,voice,audio,dip,video,gdm,camera my name

Now, using KDE->Multimedia->Volum Contro, I get a message saying
"Sorry, no mixier elements and/or device found"

I was able to use the Volum Control before!
What did I do wrong?(!)
