If you are starting from AIX 4.3.0 . From 4.3.3 is less then 600 MB

I do not know. If you really have to start from 4.3.0 i would put the
following fileset onto a second and 3rd CD

bos.loc.
cifs.
cluster.
ifor_ls.
LoadL.
OpenGL.
PEX_PHIGS.
ssp.
sx25.
