That's all??? IMHO there should be at least an NFS packet from the
client.

Well, I've no ideas more. Only some further shots in the dark.

Did you ever install a machine with this installation server?

Maybe you should double check the mini root on your installation
server used by the client ( .../Solaris/Tools/Boot ). Create a new
mini root from the installation cdrom and compare it with the existing
directory.
