It's 2.1.2a as I had tried 2,1,5a from the 507 cd with the same result
befoer the
server was reinstalled from square one.
My one internal 506 box is what I used to test bed this and I used
2.1.5a from the
507 cd without any problems. My 506 media kit is out on loan so I've
not been
able to try 2.1.4a.

Any other ideas?

I can't even hide the messages on tty12 with cn.console=12 in a the
bootstring :-(

They don't seem to cause any problem!
