Check to see when MSTPPP is up and running that the remote gateway,
and DNS servers entries are correct and are responding.
I have had better luck running the modem in full HW flow control mode,
which requires the MSTPPP config lines to be editted. In my setup I
used "rtscts-rtsflow" in the Account file.
