I would imagine such problems will be solved fairly soon when nVidia
releases their next driver set for Linux, likely with 2.6.0 support. I
wouldn't be surprised if that happened fairly soon, too. They released
the 52.xx series under Windows a few months ago.. we can't be too far
behind.

You might google about a little bit, and if nothing turns up, ask on the
alsa-user mailing list (at alsa-project.org). There's probably
something you can do somewhere along the line to improve that sound
quality. I think the OSS drivers *are* still in the kernel tree, as
well, if you can't get ALSA working properly for you.

FWIW, on my nForce and i8x0 boards, sound quality increased using Alsa
instead of OSS. Dramatically on both.
