I have a laptop that sometimes behaves the same way when starting and
terminating an X-session. I have an ATI Radeon mobility 7500 video card.
I have no idea what causes it. It does not happen very often, so I am
not very bothered by it. I assume that there is a bug in the XFree86
server.(??)
