You should be able to use kprinter to add printers. It has a little
button with a wand on it that will launch the wizard. However, have you
tried cups? If that's what you use, then you can just fire up your
favorite web browser and point it to http://localhost:631 to find a very
intuitive interface which will walk you through the process of adding a
printer.
