I have an HP DeskJet 6122 connected by USB to one of my Slackware
machines. I'm using the Slackware packages for CUPS & hpijs. You'll
need 'usblp' support either build into the kernel or the module loaded.

When they're installed, you can go to <URL:http//localhost:631/> and
add your printer. <URL:http://www.linuxprinting.org/> will probably
have something useful to add for your printer.
