From an AIX perspective, although I do not use IPM, here is what I did:

Share the printer on the Win2k box
Activate TCPIP printing service on Win2k box
Add IP address and hostname to /etc/hosts on AIX box
Add queue as a 'remote' printer on AIX box

Everything works fine. I'm sure IPM is not much different than this.
