Sorry, I haven't any idea. Somewhere on the filesystem there is a
font.alias that maps "9x15" to a particular font.

I don't know, but another way to get larger/different fonts in an xterm is
by using "Shift-KEYPAD_PLUS". This will automagically cycle among
different font sizes. "Shift-KEYPAD_MINUS" cycles in the opposite
direction.

You can use xfontsel to browse the fonts that X recognizes.

Or you can use the gnome-terminal or the konsole both of which allow you
to select fonts using a dialog box.
