I think this is a so-called-"Feature" of gmail. Gmail is so smart it
assumes you wouldn't want to download your own messages, so it
doesn't include messages from your gmail account sent through their
smtp server in your pop3 downloads.
It has annoyed me for quite a while. Even setting up forwarding
rules at gmail doesn't seem to help.

If your rules work for the rest of your email, I'd say they are
