I have finally got mine dual Opteron (Opteron 240-1.4 GHz) running.
Well, practically. More or less everything works now, except audio. If
anyone got it working on Tyan K8W, I would like to know. Also, Midnight
Commander is blocked at the moment. Shame...
I hope things in the amd64 world clear up a bit soon, although its fine even
now. Dual Opteron, which is only decent in Windows 2000, under Gentoo really
flies.
I'm really glad that bought that two machines, even though software
instalation and machine configuration took me more than a week. It sounded
so simple. Take hard disks etc from old machines, insert them into new
machines and install Windoze, Linux etc What can go wrong with that ? ;o)
Ehh, no mater. Speed and stability of the tandem are really worth the effort
