The boot process stops with the message

hde: attached ide-disk driver


hde is my only HD and its an S-ATA one. hda and hdb are assigned to
the CD-ROM and DVD drive

the BIOS setup for the IDE is 'enhanced' which basically lets me have
3 IDE channels (2 normal and 1 SATA with each having a master and
slave - 6 drives in total) but the manual only tells me about Windows
OS's and enhanced mode only works in 2k and XP (as far as I can
remember) maybe I have to reduce the M/B IDE functions back to a basic
level, I have not tried this but I will give it a go during the
holidays.


Also Suse Live CD 9.0 stops with exactly the same error.
