KDE-3.2.2 is in Portage. FWIW, it did compile OK here with a -j5
make option.

Being in ~ARCH does not mean KDE is considered unstable, only its ebuild
is. Given the size of the package, it is not a surprise that the ebuild
needs a lot a testing and feedback before it can be marked stable.

Again, ~ARCH does not mean unstable software, it means the ebuild hasn't
been thoroughly tested yet.
