Hello -- I've searched and search to find help with my problem, but
can't seem to find an answer. I'm new to both Linux and Gentoo, so
please look past the n00bness if this is a simple question.

I don't know what I did, but when I log in now and when Gnome is
starting, I see that gDesklets is starting -- but it never shows up. It
use to start, but not any more.

If I try clicking Applications >> Accessories >> gdesklets -- "Starting
gDesklets..." appears in the Window List panel, but then just disappears
and gDesklets isn't on my desktop. From a shell prompt, if I su,
gDesklets will start by typing in gdesklets -- but only if I'm using
root privileges.

What am I doing wrong?

Also, is there a group I can add myself to, in order to modify items in
the /usr/share folders?
