Maybe add png to that? Shouldn't hurt either way, if you want to use
png in general.

At a guess (I don't have anything called Esetroot myself), you're
using enlightenment, and it depends on imlib2 which uses the png USE
flag. Try adding it and 'emerge -va --newuse world'.
