I'm trying to sort out how to get modules to load correctly on
start-up.
I know you add them to

/etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6

but I don't understand what all the references to aliases and
char-major etc mean.
Can anyone point me to a simple guide about how to use modules as I
can't seem to find any.
