Perhaps related, but recently I did emerge -puDv --newuse world and
xorg-x11 came up with -font-server*. Since X is big, I decided not to
recompile it. Two questions. What changed the use variable? I do not
recall installing or uninstalling anything font-related manually. What if
I DID re-emerge it? Everything seems to work now.
