Kernel >=2.6.13 does not support devfs anymore.
You must merge (and configure) udev instead (this is not necessarily
trivial, but there are corresponding HOWTOs in the net).
When udev works for you, you can unmerge devfsd and only afterwards
you can install Kernel >=2.6.13.
