Thanks for the quick reply.

After my post, I installed Webmin and tried to install a printer that way.
Lo and behold! It worked! Took about 30 seconds to install. I fought
with that goofy KDE print manager thingy for a couple hours!

I checked out http://localhost:631 and that is a very cool way to manage
printers. Thanks for the tip!
