| I have an issue with my friends laptop that I'm trying to set up with debian (unstable). For some reason the fonts are cropped from the top. I tried removing font hinting and it greatly improved things but hasn't solved it completely. Changing dpi doesn't seem to help (at most it changes which letters are cropped). removing antialiasing for fonts does solve the problem but they look terrible. The machine is a dell vosotro 1400 with intel graphics gm965 with the intel driver on a 14.1 inch screen and 1280x800 resolution. thanks -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". I see that occasionally. Usually in Iceweasel & Icedove. Scrolling up and back down "fixes" the problem. This might not be what you are referring to, though. - -- Ron Johnson, Jr. Jefferson LA USA We want... a Shrubbery!! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFIJ2oIS9HxQb37XmcRAjNKAKCjE4wFFbqLoDP+g4HbAh CHSxnX1ACfXb2d scyE+n0EAgypxwGeDZFRK4M= =hOyR -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Seems like the framebuffer driver is suffering from the same problem although not as severe, as it seems aggravated by anti aliased fonts and really aggravated by font hinting. > - -- > Ron Johnson, Jr. > Jefferson LA USA > > We want... a Shrubbery!! > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- > Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) > > iD8DBQFIJ2oIS9HxQb37XmcRAjNKAKCjE4wFFbqLoDP+g4HbAh CHSxnX1ACfXb2d > scyE+n0EAgypxwGeDZFRK4M= > =hOyR > -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- > > -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
