| I am trying to install a copy of debian on an ASUS A8V-E SE board -- it doesn't recognize the ethernet controller (Marvell Yukon). In gathering information it looks like I will have to buid a complete system and recomile the kernel to achieve this goal. Does anyone have a shortcut? Thanks in advance! Joe |

I have the Asus P5LD2 motherboard which has the Marvell Yukon ethernet controller. I found that you need a 2.6.16 kernel (Testing) to utilize the Sky2 driver which will enable the controller. Plus be aware that there are problems with the Sky2 driver. I've found that only the stock 2.6.16-2 kernel works. The SMP version does not. But the developer is aware of the problem and trying to solve it. For what it's worth both CentOS and Ubuntu do work. |

Again, all this with an Intel P4 on an ASUS motherboard. |
