| Just installed Lenny on an HP Vista laptop. No error messages until I booted - /dev/sda3 does not exist, try /dev/hda3. I edited the grub stuff to /dev/hda3 - same message. I am dropped into an ash shell, prompt says (intrafms). I put grub into the mbr - perhaps I shouldn't have. So, neither sda3 nor hda3 exist. Vista boots, btw. Any hints, pointers, etc appreciated. |

If all else fails then what I would do is download and burn Gparted's LiveCD and boot that up. Once you've got that up and running you can visually see all the partitions and work out what what the partition you're after is called. - -- Regards, Sheridan Hutchinson Sheridan@Shezza.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFHnfjYnBrliHqz8aARAkIKAJ9QYQ90SrvIQYvDnEQWqO 15Ck5SAQCfV4Vn 62I5bcoVJniPZmJwmdQLn1g= =aitF -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
