Default fglrx libc6 dependency issue

I have tried several versions of the fglrx driver from ATI/AMD site but
all had slow jurky scrolling so I gave up for a while.

The latest 8.02 driver has an option to create an etch package so I d/l'd
and created the pkg successfully. Running it with apt-get it complains
about libc6 dependency issue.

It reports needing - ver >=2.3.6-6

dpkg -l libc6 yields ver 2.3.6.ds1-13etch4

I have posted this to 2 Debian forums and have not seen any replies. This
means either no one reading the post can help or it's a dumb question. If
the latter is true I really would like to know. I have searched the web
with little success. Thanks, Bob

You used a libc6 development package to build the fglrx package that does
not correspond to the libc6 package used by your system.
Use the etch provided libc6 development package to build a new fglrx
package and everything should work fine.
To build such packages, it is always important to double check your
repositories and avoid using foreign development packages that mess up
your results.

Hope it helps,
