Default hda partition not found

Hi

I'm trying to install a minimal Debian system on an embedded card Axiomtec
SBC84500 with a compact flash.

It works perfectly with a 256 Mo CF but with a larger CF (1Go), the kernel
hang at boot time when searching hda partition (I have only 1 partition
hda1).

I have tried different kernel parameters but always fails.

It seems that the kernel recognise hda in CHS mode when it is LBA.

Anybody can help?

Thanks

JPF

PS: I have posted the same message on linux embedded forum but got no reply.
