| Hi all, I just got Ubuntu 5.04 and installed it on an older Compaq Deskpro. It has an Intel 536EP pci modem in it. lspci can see it just fine but when I go to Intels' website for the driver, it has all kinds of drivers for RedHat, SUSE, Mandrake, etc... but nothing for debian type linuxes. I have heard of ndiswrapper but have never had to use it. So I have two questions: 1. how/where do I get the correct driver for this modem? 2. how do I set up Firebird so that when I click on it, if there is no net connection, it calls up the dialer demon, connects to the Internet and then passes control back to the browser ah la Windows? thanks, charles....... |
