| Hi Yesterdays updates made my icedove's UI fonts for everything but the actual email ugly large. This also apears in iceweasel and gkrellm but not in opera. The fluxbox guys (fluxbox was one of the updates of esterday) deny responsibility. AFAIR there was an update for xorg-xserver-ati as well (I use fglrx ...) Anyone an Idea what got messed up and how to correct it? I can remember this problem with fluxbox on Ubuntu 7.04 but it was definitly not in Debian / Testing untill yesterday / today (didn't restart X yesterday) Christoph -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFHn00Qy7PXBwNyJ10RCu5BAKCZgmIv0o+bVILR2oZLoJ Zwc1p1ewCffrKJ uxEoYgUeo6z1A2AQm73/IPQ= =J5VQ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

If so, read /usr/share/doc/xinit/NEWS.Debian.gz. You should also install apt-listchanges so that you don't miss this kind of thing at upgrade time. -- | Darren Salt | linux or ds at | nr. I do not use xinit. Does apt-listchanges drop in with »pure« aptitude? or do I have to invoke it manually? But the NEWS-file for xdm tells something about some changes affectng dpi. Do you refer to this? If font's are too large I should decrease the dpi? | For now adding the line xrandr --dpi 96 to my .fluxbox/startup seems to do everthing I want. Seems those aplications simply scale everything up when they detect an display with high resolution so faking 96 dpi on my ~ 190dpi Screen gets acceptable results Christoph -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFHoN2yy7PXBwNyJ10RCoVmAJ45N6KhZapdijv6TIX68x C/RGYFogCZAejd 47M1w60FYf+N40ZFtq50+ao= =jt1l -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Does anyone know a way to do this automatically on startup?
